Keno Mapp, host of Artist For Real (Sundays 1 to 3pm PT) has been diagnosed with cancer. It’s pretty bad. Cancer is very widespread in his back and has reached his brain. He has two massive operations and massive chemo and radiation ahead of him. His show is on hiatus until further notice.
Fortunately he has one of the best oncologists in Germany and they happen to specialize in exactly the type of cancer Keno has.
He’s a fighter and he’s going to beat this. Keno is also the father of two small children who are currently with their mother. A fundraiser has been put together to raise money to make sure the kids are provided for.
Keno is a working artist so while he is in the hospital which will likely be for sometime, he isn’t making any money.
Keno is a long time fixture of the Bay Area Burner Community, a long time member of the BMIR crew and on the Shouting Fire crew as well as a close personal friend to many of us.
He’s performed on the playa many times and at numerous fundraisers all over the world. He’s an amazing loving soul, who spreads love, life, peace and art wherever he goes.
